Workshops

With my passion for textiles and my teaching skills it’s only natural that I’m keen to share my ideas and encourage others to develop their own creativity. My workshops aim to teach you a new skill in a relaxed, sociable ambience. Nothing too difficult, but a chance to challenge yourself to create something lovely in the company of like-minded people enjoying some quality personal time away from the pressures of everyday life.

I offer two types of workshop:

Sew Local

One hour, two hour, half day or whole day workshops for community groups - ideal for W.I.s, art clubs, crafting circles, P.T.As, church groups, village hall societies, retirement complexes, Rotary groups, scouts/guides etc. I am happy to attend your venue and will tailor my programme to your group’s specific requirements, catering for both adults and children of all skill levels, including those with special needs. All materials are provided, along with full tuition and advice on how to adapt the skills learnt to other projects. A Crazy Mary workshop can also be a fun way to spend time with your friends – if you have the space, plus a group of friends who are itching to create something new, why not hold a crafting session in your own home?

Rates for 'Sew Local' workshops are negotiable and sessions can also be incorporated into fundraising events.

Sew Social

Half day, whole day and full weekend events which feature a workshop programme, plus a lively social element such as tea/lunch, or even weekend accommodation. Again, all materials and full tuition are provided, plus advice on how to adapt the skills learnt to other projects. ‘Sew Social’ events are aimed at anyone interested in craft, particularly textiles, from beginners upwards - no previous experience or skills are required, simply enthusiasm plus a desire to create and to learn something new.

Rates for ‘Sew  Social’ events vary according to the venue and type of activity.

"It was a fab day and we are all still buzzing with it…you have inspired us on. The highlight for me was seeing ladies use the machines for first time and lose their fear."
